To the left of the Metadata heading in the right panel of the Library module in Lightroom Classic, there is a dropdown menu that allows you to choose a view option. The selected option determines which metadata fields are displayed in the section.

The Default option shows a relatively small set of metadata fields compared to other options. For instance, I prefer the EXIF and IPTC options as it include a broader range of metadata fields that I find useful.

However, the Default view can be customised to display the specific metadata fields you need. To do this, select Default from the dropdown menu next to the Metadata heading, then click the Customize button at the bottom of the section. This opens the Customize Metadata Default Panel window, where you can check or uncheck fields to include or exclude.

Additionally, clicking the Arrange button opens the Arrange Metadata Default Panel dialog, where you can drag and reorder metadata fields as needed. Once finished, click Save in the Arrange Metadata Default Panel or Done in the Customize Metadata Default Panel to apply your changes.

After customising the Default view, your updated configuration will be used whenever you select Default from the dropdown menu.
